Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification IEC 60309-1 and IEC 60309-2 are the principal standards for industrial plugs and socket-outlets. Product-specific conformity may also include IEC 60529 for ingress protection and applicable marine electrical installation requirements such as IEC 60092.
Class Approval Approval depends on the exact product, installation, and vessel requirements. Marine installations may be accepted by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK when the manufacturer has applicable type approval or the installation is assessed by the attending classification society.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select plug voltage, current rating, pole configuration, clock position, cable size, and IP rating to match the supply and equipment. Isolate and verify the circuit before wiring. Tighten terminals to the manufacturer's specified torque and maintain protective earth continuity.
Maintenance Tips Inspect contacts, seals, covers, cable glands, and housing for corrosion, heat damage, looseness, or cracking. Clean with approved methods, keep mating surfaces dry, and replace damaged seals or plugs. Verify insulation and earth continuity during scheduled electrical maintenance.
Safety Notes Installation and testing must be performed by qualified electrical personnel. Do not connect incompatible voltage or clock-position configurations. Never disconnect under load unless the plug is specifically rated for load breaking. Use appropriate lockout/tagout and confirm the circuit is de-energized.
