Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common dimensional and performance references include ISO 691 for wrench openings, ISO 7738 and DIN 3113 for combination wrenches, and ISO 6789 for hand torque tools. Specific compliance depends on the manufacturer and tool type.
Class Approval General hand wrenches are not normally subject to separate DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK type approval. Tools used in classified work should meet the vessel's approved maintenance and safety requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the correct size and wrench type for the fastener. Ensure the tool fully engages the nut or bolt, apply force in the intended direction, and use a calibrated torque wrench where specified. Do not use extensions unless approved for that tool.
Maintenance Tips Clean tools after use, remove salt and grease, and inspect for cracks, deformation, worn jaws, or damaged drive surfaces. Store dry and lightly oil carbon-steel surfaces. Calibrate torque wrenches at the manufacturer's recommended interval.
Safety Notes Wear suitable eye and hand protection. Do not use damaged tools, cheater bars, or improvised striking methods unless the tool is specifically designed for impact use. Isolate machinery and release pressure before working on fasteners, valves, or piping.
