Ball Valves - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Marine ball valves are quarter-turn isolation valves used in pump, piping, cooling-water, fuel, ballast, fire-main and utility systems. They provide rapid shutoff with low pressure loss and are available in threaded, flanged, wafer and butt-weld configurations.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Ball Valves for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly referenced standards include ISO 17292 for metal ball valves, ISO 5208 and EN 12266 for pressure testing, ASME B16.34 for valve pressure-temperature ratings, and ASME B16.5 or B16.10 where applicable. Certification depends on the specific valve design and service.
Class Approval Marine installation may require type approval or component acceptance from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK. Approval is model-, size-, material- and service-specific and should be verified from the manufacturer's certificate.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify size, pressure class, end connection, flow direction where applicable, body and seat materials, and fluid compatibility. Clean piping before installation, support the valve correctly, and avoid using the valve body to force pipe alignment. Install with access for operation and maintenance.
Maintenance Tips Exercise manually operated valves periodically where permitted by the system. Check for stem, body and flange leakage, corrosion, damaged handles and actuator operation. Do not dismantle or service a pressurized valve; replace worn seats, seals or packing with approved parts.
Safety Notes Isolate, drain, depressurize and, where necessary, gas-free the line before maintenance. Confirm the valve is suitable for the fluid, temperature and pressure, especially for fuel, steam, oxygen or hazardous service. Follow vessel permit-to-work, lockout/tagout and class requirements.
