Eccentric Reducers - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Eccentric reducers are tapered pipe fittings with offset centerlines, used to connect different nominal pipe sizes while maintaining a flat side. In marine systems they help control air pockets, drainage, clearance, and pump suction conditions.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Eccentric Reducers for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common standards include ASME B16.9 for factory-made wrought butt-welding fittings, ASME B16.5 for flanges, EN 10253 for butt-welding fittings, and MSS SP-75 where applicable. Material certificates and testing are normally specified by the vessel piping standard.
Class Approval Approval is project- and vessel-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK may accept the fitting when it complies with approved piping drawings, material requirements, pressure testing, and applicable rules.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify nominal sizes, material, pressure rating, corrosion allowance, and end connection before installation. Install the eccentric side in the orientation required by the system design; pump suction arrangements commonly use a flat side up to reduce air-pocket risk, while drainage arrangements may require flat side down. Follow approved welding or bolting procedures.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for corrosion, leakage, vibration, weld damage, coating failure, and external mechanical loads during scheduled surveys. Check adjacent supports and flange bolts. Replace fittings showing cracking, severe wall loss, distortion, or unacceptable leakage.
Safety Notes Confirm the line is isolated, depressurized, drained, and gas-free before work. Use compatible welding procedures and ventilation for coated or alloy piping. Do not exceed the fitting's approved pressure-temperature rating, and use appropriate lifting and personal protective equipment.
