Expansion Bellows - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Expansion bellows are flexible components installed in marine piping, pump and valve systems to absorb thermal expansion, vibration, equipment movement and piping misalignment. They are available in metallic, rubber and composite constructions, selected according to fluid, pressure, temperature and movement requirements.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Expansion Bellows for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Metallic expansion joints are commonly designed or tested with reference to EJMA guidelines, EN 14917 and applicable piping standards. Rubber expansion joints may reference EN 13480, EN 1092-1 and relevant manufacturer standards. Certification depends on construction and service.
Class Approval Marine class acceptance or type approval may be available from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK for specific designs and applications. Approval is not universal and must be verified against the manufacturer certificate and vessel class requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify pressure, temperature, movement, face-to-face length, flow direction and material compatibility before installation. Align the piping independently; do not use the bellows to correct major misalignment. Install guides and anchors where required, remove shipping restraints, and tighten bolts evenly.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for cracks, corrosion, deformation, leakage, abrasion and loose fasteners. Check that anchors, guides and supports remain secure. Replace the bellows if excessive movement, surface damage or leakage is detected; do not weld or repair the flexible element unless approved by the manufacturer.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain and cool the system before inspection or replacement. Do not exceed the rated pressure, temperature or movement limits. Protect metallic bellows from impact and unauthorized welding. Use suitable lifting equipment and follow the manufacturer's installation and class requirements.
