Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common dimensional and pressure standards include ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47, EN 1092-1, EN 1092-2, JIS B 2239, ISO 7005 and applicable class or project piping specifications. Material certificates and pressure-test documentation may be required.
Class Approval Approval is project- and service-dependent. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept or require approved materials, manufacturers, welding procedures and piping components for classed vessels. Confirm requirements with the vessel's classification society.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify nominal size, flange standard, pressure rating, face type, material compatibility, bolt pattern and gasket before installation. Align pipework without forcing the flange, fit the correct gasket, and tighten bolts evenly in a cross-pattern to the specified torque.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for corrosion, leakage, gasket deterioration, bolt loosening and flange distortion during planned maintenance. Replace damaged gaskets and severely corroded fasteners, and verify flange alignment after pipework or pump maintenance.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain and, where necessary, gas-free the piping system before loosening flanges. Use suitable lifting equipment and PPE, control residual fluids, and never mix incompatible flange standards, gasket materials or pressure ratings.
