Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Selection and installation commonly reference MSS SP-58 and MSS SP-69, ASME B31.1 or B31.3 where applicable, EN 13480 for metallic industrial piping, and project or shipyard piping-support specifications. Certification depends on the complete marine installation.
Class Approval Classification approval is not universal for standard pipe hangers. Where required, acceptance is based on the vessel's classification society, approved piping design, fire-zone requirements and material documentation. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may review or approve the installed system.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install at engineered support locations with correct spacing, load rating and attachment details. Keep supports clear of welds, inspection points and moving equipment. Allow specified thermal movement and avoid imposing loads on pump or valve nozzles.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for corrosion, loose fasteners, cracked welds, deformation, seized rollers and damaged vibration isolators. Verify spring or constant-support settings after major piping or equipment work.
Safety Notes Confirm the pipe is isolated, depressurized and drained before modification. Use rated lifting equipment and do not remove a loaded support without temporary support. Follow approved drawings, hot-work controls and vessel safety procedures.
