Pipe Saddles - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Pipe saddles are supports fitted beneath marine piping to distribute load, maintain alignment, and limit vibration or movement. They are used with seawater, ballast, fire-main, bilge, fuel, cooling-water, and other shipboard piping systems.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Pipe Saddles for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Design and installation may reference MSS SP-58, MSS SP-69, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and EN 13480-3, as applicable. Material traceability, welding, coating, and fire-performance requirements are normally specified by the vessel project or shipyard.
Class Approval Classification approval is generally project-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK may review pipe-support arrangements as part of the vessel piping and machinery approval. Individual saddles require approval when specified by the class or vessel contract.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the saddle for the pipe outside diameter, load, temperature, movement, and corrosion environment. Fit the saddle evenly to the pipe or insulation, avoid point loading, provide guides or anchors where required, and use approved welding procedures for welded supports. Maintain required clearance from hull structure and adjacent equipment.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for corrosion, coating breakdown, loosened fasteners, cracked welds, deformation, insulation damage, and pipe movement. Verify that sliding supports remain free to move and that drains or moisture traps are not created beneath insulated piping.
Safety Notes Confirm the pipe is isolated, depressurized, drained, and electrically safe before modification. Use certified lifting and welding procedures, control hot work near fuel or flammable systems, and do not remove a support unless temporary support and engineering approval are provided.
