Pressure Reducing Valves - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Pressure reducing valves automatically reduce and maintain downstream pressure in shipboard piping systems. They are used to protect equipment and provide stable pressure for seawater, freshwater, steam, compressed air, fuel, and utility services.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Pressure Reducing Valves for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include ISO 5208 or EN 12266 for pressure testing, EN 1092 for flanges, ASME B16.34 for applicable industrial valves, and material or pressure-equipment requirements based on service. Certification depends on the manufacturer and supplied configuration.
Class Approval DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK approval may be available for specific valve designs or applications. Approval is not automatic and must be verified against the valve model, service, pressure rating, and vessel project requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install in the flow direction marked on the body. Provide upstream and downstream isolation valves, a strainer where required, pressure gauges, and adequate access for adjustment and maintenance. Confirm pipe size, pressure rating, temperature, medium, and flange standard before installation.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for leakage, corrosion, abnormal pressure fluctuations, and blocked strainers. Check downstream pressure periodically and clean or replace internal seals, diaphragms, springs, or pilot components according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain, and cool the line before removal or servicing. Use a relief device where downstream overpressure is possible. Verify compatibility with the medium and never exceed the valve’s rated pressure or temperature.
