Stud Bolts - Pumps, Valves, Piping and Fittings

Marine stud bolts are threaded fasteners used with nuts for assembling pump casings, valves, pipe flanges, strainers and other pressure-containing equipment. They are selected by diameter, length, thread form, material grade, coating and pressure-temperature requirements.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Stud Bolts for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common requirements include ASTM A193/A193M for alloy and stainless steel bolting, ASTM A194/A194M for nuts, ASME B1.1 for Unified threads, ISO 965 for metric threads, and ASME B16.5 or B16.47 for applicable flanged joint dimensions. Material certificates are commonly supplied to EN 10204 3.1.
Class Approval Individual stud bolts are not normally class-approved as standalone items. Classification societies such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may require traceable material certificates, approved grades and installation procedures for safety-critical marine systems.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm diameter, length, thread form, material grade, nut grade, flange standard and gasket arrangement before installation. Clean threads, lubricate with an approved compound, install in the specified cross-tightening sequence and apply the required torque or tension.
Maintenance Tips Inspect accessible bolting for corrosion, thread damage, loosening and leakage at the joint. Replace studs and nuts showing significant wastage, galling or deformation. Do not mix incompatible grades or coatings without engineering approval.
Safety Notes Depressurize, drain and isolate the system before loosening bolted joints. Use calibrated torque equipment and suitable personal protective equipment. Follow approved tightening procedures, especially for high-pressure, hot, toxic, flammable or seawater systems.
