Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Dimensions and connections may comply with ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47 or EN 1092-1, according to the selected flange. Materials and pressure design are normally specified by the manufacturer and project piping requirements.
Class Approval Class approval is not inherent to all T-strainers. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK acceptance may be required for specific marine installations and is subject to approved drawings, materials and service conditions.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install with the flow arrow aligned with the piping flow and provide sufficient clearance to remove the basket. Fit isolation valves where required, support the strainer independently, and install drain or vent connections in accessible locations.
Maintenance Tips Monitor pressure drop across the strainer and clean the basket when differential pressure increases or flow decreases. Inspect the basket, body, cover gasket and fasteners; replace damaged baskets and gaskets before reassembly.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize, drain and cool the line before opening the strainer. Use suitable PPE and verify the fluid hazard. Never remove the cover or basket while the system is pressurized.
