Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Where required by the vessel specification, bedding components may be tested to IMO 2010 FTP Code, Part 9, for fire-restricting bedding components. Applicable requirements depend on flag state, vessel type and classification documentation.
Class Approval Individual bedding items are not universally class-approved. Fire performance, material certificates or approval documentation may be required by the vessel owner, flag administration or classification society such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm berth dimensions, mattress thickness, fire-performance requirements and cabin inventory before delivery. Fit mattresses and protectors securely without obstructing ventilation or access to safety equipment.
Maintenance Tips Follow manufacturer washing instructions. Keep bedding dry and well ventilated, inspect covers and seams regularly, replace damaged or contaminated items, and maintain clean spare-stock rotation onboard.
Safety Notes Use only materials meeting the vessel's specified fire-safety requirements. Keep bedding away from heaters, hot surfaces and ignition sources. Do not block escape routes, ventilation openings or access to emergency equipment.
