Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable standards depend on the component and service. Common references include ISO 4379 and ISO 7905 for plain bearings, EN 1514 for flange gaskets, ASME B16.20 for metallic gaskets, and applicable manufacturer material and pressure specifications.
Class Approval Marine bearing and sealing systems may require type approval or project approval from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK or other recognized classification societies. Approval depends on design, vessel application, material and installation arrangement.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify shaft diameter, bearing length, clearances, housing dimensions, lubrication arrangement and material compatibility before installation. Install bearings concentrically and fit packing or gaskets on clean, undamaged sealing surfaces using the specified compression and tightening sequence.
Maintenance Tips Inspect bearing clearance, wear, temperature, vibration and lubrication condition during operation. Check packing compression and leakage, and renew gaskets after disassembly. Replace components when wear limits, damage or loss of sealing performance is detected.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out machinery before installation or inspection. Confirm the shaft is supported and cannot rotate or move unexpectedly. Use suitable lifting equipment, personal protective equipment and manufacturer-approved materials; never exceed rated temperature, pressure or speed limits.
