Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Surgical and medical masks may comply with EN 14683 or ASTM F2100, depending on market and product type. N95 surgical respirators are approved under NIOSH 42 CFR Part 84. Verify the supplier's current product documentation.
Class Approval Medical masks are generally not subject to marine classification-society type approval. Vessel operators should verify flag-state, company medical-inventory, and applicable medical-device requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes No installation is required. Select the correct size, inspect packaging and expiry date, orient the mask correctly, secure it over the nose and mouth, and perform a fit check. Use a fit-tested respirator where required.
Maintenance Tips Store sealed masks in a clean, dry, well-ventilated medical locker away from heat, moisture, chemicals, and direct sunlight. Do not wash, reuse, or use damaged or expired masks.
Safety Notes Disposable masks are single-use unless the manufacturer specifically states otherwise. Replace when wet, soiled, damaged, or difficult to breathe through. Medical masks do not provide the same protection as a properly fit-tested respirator against airborne particles.
