Air Diffusers - Refrigeration and HVAC

Marine air diffusers distribute conditioned supply air or extract air throughout vessel accommodation, control rooms, public spaces and machinery areas. They are selected for airflow pattern, noise level, corrosion resistance, fire-rating requirements and compatibility with the shipboard HVAC system.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Air Diffusers for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Selection and testing may reference ISO 7547 for shipboard accommodation air-conditioning and ventilation, EN 12238 for air terminal devices, and applicable IMO fire-safety requirements. Exact certification depends on material, fire rating and project specification.
Class Approval Classification approval is normally project- and installation-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept marine HVAC diffusers when supplied within an approved ventilation system and supported by required fire, material and performance documentation.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install square, level and securely connected to the correctly sized duct or plenum. Seal duct connections, maintain access for faceplate removal, and balance the system after installation. Use approved corrosion-resistant fasteners and materials suitable for the vessel environment.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for corrosion, loose fasteners, damaged finishes and blocked openings. Clean the faceplate and blades with a non-abrasive cleaner. Verify airflow balance and repair damaged protective coatings.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out the HVAC fan before removal or cleaning. Do not obstruct the diffuser or alter blade settings without checking system balance. Confirm fire, smoke and hazardous-area requirements before replacing diffusers in protected or machinery spaces.
