Condenser Water Pipes - Refrigeration and HVAC

Condenser water pipes carry seawater or treated freshwater between marine refrigeration/HVAC condensers, pumps, strainers and heat exchangers. Materials are selected for corrosion resistance, pressure rating, temperature, vibration and compatibility with the cooling medium.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Condenser Water Pipes for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable standards may include ASTM B466/B467 for copper-nickel pipe, ASTM A312 for stainless-steel pipe, ISO 14692 for GRP piping and ISO 15649 for industrial piping. Material certificates, pressure testing and documentation are normally required by the vessel specification.
Class Approval Where required by the vessel design, piping systems may be reviewed or approved by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK or another IACS classification society. Approval depends on material, service, pressure class, installation and the complete piping system.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify pipe material, nominal size, pressure rating, flow direction and joining method against approved drawings. Use compatible gaskets, bolts, valves and supports. Provide adequate supports, expansion allowance, isolation from dissimilar metals and protection against vibration. Flush and pressure-test the completed circuit before commissioning.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for corrosion, dezincification, erosion, leaks, vibration damage and loose supports. Clean strainers and monitor condenser-water flow, pressure and temperature. Maintain treated freshwater chemistry and inspect seawater lines for marine growth or blockage during planned maintenance.
Safety Notes Isolate, depressurize and drain the circuit before cutting or dismantling pipes. Use appropriate PPE for seawater, chemicals and hot surfaces. Confirm that refrigerant and electrical hazards are controlled near HVAC equipment. Pressure testing must use approved procedures and test limits.
