Fan Belts - Refrigeration and HVAC

Fan belts for marine refrigeration and HVAC systems transmit power from electric motors or engine-driven pulleys to fans, blowers, compressors, and pumps. They are commonly supplied as classical or narrow-section V-belts in oil-resistant, heat-resistant, and antistatic constructions.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Fan Belts for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly manufactured to ISO 4184 for classical and narrow V-belts. ISO 1813 may apply where electrical conductivity or antistatic performance is required. Final belt dimensions and performance should be verified against the manufacturer specification.
Class Approval Fan belts generally do not have independent DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK type approval. Use belts specified by the HVAC, refrigeration, fan, or machinery manufacturer where class-approved equipment documentation requires it.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm the belt profile, length, pulley groove, rotation arrangement, and manufacturer part number before installation. Inspect pulley alignment and condition, install matched sets together, and set tension using the maker's recommended deflection or tension value. Do not force belts over pulleys.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for cracking, glazing, fraying, oil contamination, and abnormal wear. Check alignment and tension after initial running-in and during planned maintenance. Keep spare belts dry, cool, clean, and away from direct sunlight, ozone, and chemicals.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out the fan, compressor, or motor before inspection or replacement. Ensure rotating guards are refitted before operation. Keep hands, clothing, and tools clear of moving pulleys, and do not use belt dressing unless specifically approved by the manufacturer.
