Air Hoses - Hose Couplings and Petroleum Products

Marine air hoses and hose couplings are flexible assemblies used for compressed air, bunkering, cargo transfer, and petroleum products. Selection depends on pressure, temperature, fluid compatibility, hose size, coupling type, and shipboard classification requirements.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Air Hoses for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable standards may include ISO 2398 for rubber air hoses, EN 1765 for rubber hose assemblies for oil suction and discharge, EN 14420-7 for camlock couplings, and OCIMF GMPHOM 2009 for marine oil transfer hoses. Product-specific conformity documentation is required.
Class Approval DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK may approve marine hose assemblies or transfer systems subject to product type, service, installation, testing, and survey requirements. Approval is not automatic for every hose or coupling.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify hose material, bore, pressure, temperature, bend radius, and coupling compatibility before installation. Use correctly rated clamps, flanges, gaskets, bonding or grounding provisions, and support the hose to prevent excessive bending or torsion.
Maintenance Tips Inspect regularly for cracking, abrasion, blistering, leakage, coupling damage, and exposed reinforcement. Keep hoses capped and clean when stored, avoid sharp bends and prolonged sunlight, and pressure-test or replace assemblies according to the maker's instructions and vessel maintenance plan.
Safety Notes Depressurize and isolate the line before disconnecting. Use only couplings and hoses rated for the conveyed medium. Bond or ground conductive petroleum-transfer assemblies where required, control ignition sources, and prevent hose movement, static discharge, and chemical exposure.
