Toilet Cleaners - Hose Couplings and Petroleum Products

Marine hose couplings connect flexible hoses used for sanitary discharge, washdown, fuel, lubricating oil and other petroleum-product transfer. Coupling selection depends on hose size, pressure, fluid compatibility, connection type and applicable marine transfer requirements.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include EN 14420-7 for cam-and-groove couplings, EN 1765 for rubber hose assemblies for oil suction and discharge, ISO 1825 for aviation fuelling hoses where applicable, and manufacturer pressure, fire-safety and material certificates. Verify the exact service standard before procurement.
Class Approval Classification approval is application- and installation-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may accept or approve hose assemblies and transfer systems when specified by the vessel rules or project documentation. Individual couplings are not universally class-approved.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm hose size, pressure rating, fluid compatibility, temperature range and connection standard. Use the correct gasket, install the coupling fully and secure it against accidental opening. Bond and ground petroleum-transfer assemblies where required.
Maintenance Tips Inspect couplings, threads, cams, locking devices, seals and hose ends before use. Replace cracked, swollen or hardened gaskets and damaged components. Keep petroleum couplings clean, capped and protected from contamination. Pressure-test assemblies according to the vessel or manufacturer procedure.
Safety Notes Depressurize, drain and isolate the line before disconnecting. For petroleum products, eliminate ignition sources, control static electricity and use suitable PPE. Do not use a coupling with a fluid, pressure or temperature rating below the service requirement. Never use sanitary-service components for petroleum transfer unless specifically approved.
