Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable standards may include EN 14420-3 for hose clamps, EN 14420-5 for screwed hose assemblies, EN 14420-6 for TW couplings, EN 14420-7 for cam-lock couplings, and EN 1765 for oil-service hose assemblies. Product-specific certification must be verified with the manufacturer.
Class Approval Couplings are not universally class-approved as standalone items. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK acceptance may apply when specified for an approved hose assembly, bunker system or cargo-transfer arrangement.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select coupling material, seal compound, pressure rating and size for the petroleum product and hose. Fit using the manufacturer's approved hose-tail, clamp, crimp or flange method. Confirm correct gasket seating, coupling engagement and leak tightness before service.
Maintenance Tips Inspect body, locking arms, threads, seals and hose attachment regularly. Replace damaged or swollen seals and worn locking components. Keep couplings capped when disconnected and flush or drain residual petroleum product before storage.
Safety Notes Depressurize, drain and isolate the hose before disconnecting. Bond and earth transfer equipment where required to control static electricity. Use only couplings compatible with the product, pressure, temperature and hazardous-area requirements, and check for leaks before transfer.
