Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install at the bridge or designated GMDSS position. Connect the approved VHF antenna, power supply, GPS input, external speaker and required remote stations according to the manufacturer wiring diagram. Enter and verify the vessel MMSI before operation.
Maintenance Tips Carry out periodic DSC test calls using approved procedures, verify GPS and MMSI data, inspect antenna and coaxial connections, check alarms and battery supply, and perform radio tests in accordance with the vessel's GMDSS maintenance plan.
Safety Notes Only authorized personnel should configure or test distress functions. Confirm the MMSI before installation because incorrect programming can misidentify distress alerts. Do not transmit distress alerts for testing, and maintain a continuous watch on required GMDSS channels.
