Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include IEC/EN 60335-2-37 for commercial electric fryers, IEC/EN 60335-1, applicable marine electrical standards, and flag-State or shipyard requirements. Gas units may require applicable gas-appliance and ventilation standards.
Class Approval Class approval is project- and installation-dependent. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK may review or approve galley equipment installations where required by the vessel specification. Equipment approval should be verified for the exact model.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install on a level, rigid, and suitably secured galley foundation with required clearances. Connect electrical or gas services according to the manufacturer's instructions and vessel drawings. Provide adequate ventilation, extraction, drainage, and galley fire-extinguishing protection. Verify voltage, frequency, phase, gas type, and capacity before installation.
Maintenance Tips Drain and filter cooking oil at the manufacturer's recommended interval. Clean the tank, heating elements, baskets, oil filters, surfaces, and exhaust area regularly. Inspect thermostats, high-limit cut-outs, electrical connections, gas components, seals, drains, and securing arrangements. Keep service records and replace damaged components with approved parts.
Safety Notes Hot oil can cause severe burns and fires. Do not overfill the tank or add wet or frozen food to hot oil. Never use water on an oil fire; activate the approved galley fire-extinguishing system and follow vessel emergency procedures. Isolate electrical or gas supplies before servicing and ensure ventilation is operating during use.
