Mixers - Accommodation and Interior

Marine accommodation and interior mixers are sanitary water fittings used in vessel bathrooms, cabins, crew areas, pantries and other accommodation spaces. They regulate and blend hot and cold freshwater and are selected for compact dimensions, corrosion resistance and shipboard installation requirements.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include EN 817 for mechanical mixing valves and EN 1111 for thermostatic mixing valves. Exact compliance depends on the selected model, potable-water system and vessel project specification.
Class Approval Sanitary mixers generally do not have independent marine type approval. Acceptance may be governed by the vessel specification, flag administration, hygienic-water requirements and approval of the complete accommodation installation by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify hot and cold connection orientation, inlet pressure, temperature limits, mounting-hole dimensions and thread type before installation. Use approved marine-grade hoses, isolation valves and suitable sealing materials. Flush pipework before connecting the mixer.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for leaks, loose fittings, scale and corrosion. Clean aerators and cartridges periodically, especially in hard-water systems. Replace worn seals, cartridges or flexible hoses with manufacturer-approved parts.
Safety Notes Isolate and depressurize hot and cold water supplies before servicing. Control hot-water temperature to prevent scalding. Use only potable-water-approved components where connected to drinking-water systems, and verify secure mounting against vessel vibration.
