Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include SOLAS fire-safety provisions, IMO FTP Code for fire-rated assemblies, ISO 15138 for offshore accommodation HVAC where applicable, and manufacturer or project specifications. Certification depends on grille type and installation.
Class Approval Individual grilles generally do not require separate class approval unless part of a type-approved fire-rated, smoke-control, or ventilation assembly. Approval may involve DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK according to the vessel project.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install the grille in the approved opening using the specified frame, fasteners, gasket, and clearances. Confirm airflow direction, free area, access for cleaning, and compatibility with any fire or smoke boundary.
Maintenance Tips Inspect periodically for corrosion, looseness, blockage, and damaged louvers. Clean the face and removable core with a suitable non-abrasive cleaner, and replace damaged screens, filters, or seals.
Safety Notes Do not obstruct the grille or alter a fire-rated boundary without approval. Isolate the ventilation system before maintenance and use suitable access equipment and personal protective equipment.
