Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include IEC 60945 for maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment, IEC 60533 for electromagnetic compatibility on ships, IEC 60092-504 for special features of control and instrumentation systems, and IEC 60529 for enclosure protection. Certification is model- and installation-specific.
Class Approval Some marine camera systems or installations may receive type approval or product acceptance from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK. Approval must be confirmed for the specific model, vessel notation, hazardous-area requirement, and installation location.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install on a rigid, vibration-resistant structure with an unobstructed field of view. Use marine-rated cable glands, bonding, correctly rated power supplies, and approved Ethernet or video cabling. Verify IP, EMC, temperature, hazardous-area, and class requirements before installation.
Maintenance Tips Clean lenses and protective windows with non-abrasive materials and fresh water where appropriate. Inspect seals, glands, mounting bolts, connectors, heaters, wipers, and corrosion protection. Check image quality, pan-tilt operation, firmware, recording, and network connectivity periodically.
Safety Notes Isolate electrical power before servicing and follow the manufacturer's procedures. Do not open pressurized or hazardous-area cameras unless authorized. Confirm safe working conditions near moving PTZ mechanisms, high-voltage equipment, hot surfaces, and restricted or explosion-risk zones.
