Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification General office printers are normally manufactured to applicable EMC, electrical safety and environmental regulations. IEC 60945 is relevant only when the printer is part of, or specifically approved with, marine navigational or radiocommunication equipment; it does not automatically apply to ordinary office printers.
Class Approval Ordinary commercial printers generally have no independent DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK type approval. Where a printer is supplied as part of approved bridge, GMDSS or navigation equipment, approval is normally covered by the complete equipment type-approval certificate.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install on a rigid, level surface with ventilation and adequate clearance for paper or label replacement. Secure against ship motion and vibration, use the vessel-approved power supply, and connect only to compatible interfaces. Confirm voltage, frequency, network configuration and environmental limits before commissioning.
Maintenance Tips Use the specified paper, labels, ribbons and toner. Keep print heads, rollers, paper paths and ventilation openings clean. Replace consumables before depletion, inspect cables and mounting regularly, and protect paper from heat, humidity and seawater contamination.
Safety Notes Isolate power before servicing and follow the manufacturer's electrical and consumable-handling instructions. Do not operate with damaged cables, exposed wiring or blocked ventilation. Keep toner, inks, thermal media and cleaning chemicals away from heat and ignition sources, and use marine-approved power protection where required.
