Projectors - IT and Communication Equipment

Marine projectors are visual display devices used aboard ships for training, presentations, crew recreation, meeting rooms and operational briefings. Selection should consider brightness, resolution, ambient-light performance, power supply, vibration, heat dissipation and compatibility with the vessel's AV system.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Projectors for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Generic projectors are normally supplied with applicable electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility conformity markings, such as CE, FCC or UKCA, depending on market. IEC 60945 applies only where the equipment is part of approved maritime navigational or radiocommunication equipment, not to ordinary AV projectors.
Class Approval Ordinary cabin, training-room and entertainment projectors are generally not individually type-approved by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK. Fixed installations must comply with the vessel owner's specifications, flag requirements and applicable class rules for electrical equipment, EMC, mounting and fire safety.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify vessel supply voltage and frequency, provide a suitable protected circuit, maintain manufacturer clearance for cooling, and use a secure marine-appropriate ceiling, wall or shelf mount. Protect the projector from salt mist, condensation, excessive vibration and unauthorized access. Confirm HDMI, network and control-system compatibility before commissioning.
Maintenance Tips Clean air filters, intake and exhaust openings at the manufacturer's recommended intervals. Inspect mounting hardware, cables and connectors for looseness or corrosion. Keep ventilation unobstructed, monitor operating hours and clean the lens with approved materials. Laser projectors generally require less routine maintenance than lamp projectors.
Safety Notes Isolate electrical power before servicing. Do not obstruct ventilation or view directly into the active projection beam. Use certified mounting hardware and secondary retention where overhead-mounted. Do not install in hazardous areas unless the complete installation is specifically approved for that zone. Follow manufacturer instructions for electrical, optical and thermal safety.
