Servers - IT and Communication Equipment

Marine servers provide centralized computing, storage, virtualization, and network services for vessel IT, automation, navigation, monitoring, and communications systems. Shipboard installations may use rack-mounted, ruggedized, or fanless industrial servers selected for vibration, temperature, power, and space constraints.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Servers for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements depend on installation and vessel notation. Common references include IEC 60945 for applicable marine navigation and radiocommunication equipment, IEC 61162 for marine digital interfaces, IEC 60533 for electromagnetic compatibility, and IACS UR E10 where type approval is required.
Class Approval Class approval is application- and configuration-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK may approve complete marine systems or installations; a commercial IT server is not automatically class-approved. Verify the exact certificate and environmental category with the manufacturer and vessel class.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install in a secured 19-inch rack or approved equipment cabinet with adequate ventilation, shock restraint, grounding, and cable support. Provide the specified AC or DC power, UPS protection, network segregation, and environmental conditions. Follow the manufacturer commissioning and software-hardening procedures.
Maintenance Tips Monitor temperature, fan status, storage health, RAID condition, UPS status, and system logs. Perform controlled backups, firmware updates, antivirus or endpoint protection, and vulnerability management. Replace failed drives, fans, and batteries using approved parts and maintain configuration records.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out power before servicing. Use antistatic precautions and follow electrical protection requirements. Do not obstruct ventilation or install non-approved components. Protect operational technology networks from unauthorized access and test changes without disrupting critical vessel systems.
