Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements may include IEC 60092-504 for special features of control and instrumentation equipment, IEC 60945 for relevant marine navigation and radiocommunication equipment, and IEC 60529 for ingress protection. Product-specific certification must be verified from the manufacturer.
Class Approval Marine installation approval, where required, may involve DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK. Approval is product- and application-specific; ordinary commercial loudspeakers should not be assumed to have type approval.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Mount securely using corrosion-resistant hardware and aim horns or cabinets toward the coverage area. Match amplifier voltage, impedance, polarity, and power taps. Use marine-grade cable glands, sealed cable entries, and correctly rated cable. Follow the vessel PA and alarm system drawings.
Maintenance Tips Inspect housings, brackets, cable glands, and terminals for corrosion, looseness, and water ingress. Keep acoustic openings clear. Test audibility and alarm-zone operation during scheduled communication-system tests. Replace damaged diaphragms, grilles, or seals.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out the amplifier circuit before servicing. Do not exceed speaker power or voltage ratings. Verify alarm and emergency communication functions after installation or maintenance. Use only equipment approved for the hazardous or exposed location where applicable.
