Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Relevant references may include ISO 5172 for gas welding equipment and ISO 3821 for flexible hoses for gas welding. Brazing filler metals may be selected to ISO 17672. Gas cylinders, regulators and fittings must comply with applicable national and flag-state requirements.
Class Approval Brazing equipment normally has no universal marine class approval as a standalone item. Its use onboard may be subject to DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK rules, shipyard procedures, flag-state requirements and hot-work permits.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Inspect torch, hoses, regulators and connections before use. Fit correct tips, gas-specific regulators, non-return valves and flashback arrestors. Leak-test with approved leak-detection fluid; never use flame for leak testing. Secure cylinders upright and keep hoses away from heat and sharp edges.
Maintenance Tips Keep tips and mixer passages clean using approved tools. Inspect hoses for cuts, burns, aging and loose fittings. Check regulator condition, flashback arrestors and cylinder connections periodically. Replace damaged or contaminated components and follow the manufacturer's inspection intervals.
Safety Notes Use only in an authorized hot-work area with ventilation, fire watch and suitable extinguishers. Wear flame-resistant clothing, gloves, eye or face protection with the correct shade, and safety footwear. Remove combustibles, control gas cylinders, prevent oxygen contamination and follow the vessel's hot-work permit procedure.
