Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Bonded grinding wheels are commonly manufactured and marked according to EN 12413 and ISO 525. Wheel diameter, bore, abrasive type, maximum operating speed, and safety markings must be checked on the product label.
Class Approval Grinding wheels are generally consumable tools and are not individually type-approved by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK. Use should comply with vessel safety procedures, flag requirements, and the manufacturer's instructions.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify wheel type, diameter, bore, abrasive grade, and maximum rpm match the angle grinder. Inspect for cracks or damage, fit the correct flange, tighten correctly, and run the wheel briefly at no-load before grinding. Do not use a grinding wheel for side cutting unless specifically designed for that purpose.
Maintenance Tips Store wheels dry, flat, and protected from impact, moisture, frost, and excessive heat. Do not use dropped, cracked, expired, or visibly damaged wheels. Keep unused wheels in their original packaging and inspect before installation.
Safety Notes Wear a face shield over safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, flame-resistant clothing, and suitable respiratory protection where required. Install the grinder guard, maintain a safe stance, control sparks and hot debris, and keep flammable materials away. Follow the wheel manufacturer's maximum speed and safety instructions.
