Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly referenced standards include ISO 5172 for gas-welding blowpipes, ISO 2503 for gas-welding pressure regulators, ISO 3821 for rubber hoses for welding and allied processes, and ISO 14114 for gas supply equipment. Applicable national CGA, EN, or regional requirements may also apply.
Class Approval Classification societies such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, and ClassNK may accept equipment subject to approved manufacturer documentation, applicable statutory requirements, and vessel-specific procedures. Portable oxy-fuel outfits are not automatically class-approved.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Secure cylinders upright in ventilated areas and keep oxygen equipment free from oil and grease. Fit the correct regulators, hoses, non-return valves, and flashback arrestors for the selected gases. Leak-test all connections with an approved leak-detection solution before use.
Maintenance Tips Inspect hoses, regulators, valves, tips, torch bodies, and arrestors before each use. Replace damaged or contaminated components and clean tips with suitable tip cleaners. Store cylinders secured with valve protection caps and have regulators periodically inspected and calibrated as required.
Safety Notes Use only by trained personnel under the vessel's hot-work permit and gas-free procedures. Keep ignition sources and combustibles controlled, provide ventilation and fire watch, and wear suitable eye, hand, body, and foot protection. Never use oil or grease on oxygen fittings, and close cylinder valves after use.
