Cutting Torches - Welding and Fabrication

Oxy-fuel cutting torches are handheld marine fabrication tools used to cut carbon-steel plates, profiles, pipes, and structural members during shipbuilding, repair, and onboard maintenance. They typically use oxygen with acetylene, propane, or another fuel gas.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Cutting Torches for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable equipment should comply with ISO 5172 for gas welding, heating and cutting blowpipes, and ISO 9012 for manually operated gas-cutting appliances where applicable. Hoses, regulators, flashback arrestors, and fittings should meet their relevant ISO, EN, or national standards.
Class Approval Cutting torches are generally not individually class-approved as standard marine equipment. Acceptance depends on vessel safety procedures and applicable flag, port, shipyard, or classification requirements. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, and ClassNK may review hot-work equipment arrangements when required.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Connect only compatible oxygen and fuel-gas hoses, regulators, tips, and fittings. Install flashback arrestors or non-return valves as required. Leak-test connections, purge hoses safely, and adjust pressures according to the torch and tip manufacturer's instructions.
Maintenance Tips Inspect torch bodies, valves, hoses, tips, regulators, and arrestors before use. Clean tip orifices with the correct tools, replace damaged hoses and seals, and check for leaks. Keep oxygen equipment free from oil and grease.
Safety Notes Use trained personnel, permit-to-work and hot-work controls. Wear flame-resistant clothing, welding goggles or face protection, gloves, and safety footwear. Remove combustibles, provide ventilation and fire watch, secure gas cylinders upright, and never use oxygen for cleaning or ventilation.
