Cutting Tips - Welding and Fabrication

Cutting tips are replaceable torch components used for oxy-fuel cutting of shipbuilding steels, plate, sections, and fabricated assemblies. Tip selection depends on fuel gas, material thickness, torch type, and required cutting capacity.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Cutting Tips for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable equipment and torch assemblies may reference ISO 5172 for gas welding and allied processes equipment, and ISO 9013 for thermal-cutting classification and cut quality. Tip compatibility must follow the original manufacturer’s specifications.
Class Approval Individual cutting tips generally do not carry separate marine classification approval. Hot-work equipment and procedures may be subject to vessel requirements and approval by DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, BV, or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm fuel-gas type, torch model, tip series, and material thickness before installation. Inspect the seating surfaces, fit the tip correctly, and leak-test connections. Clean tip orifices only with the manufacturer-approved tip cleaner.
Maintenance Tips Keep tips free from slag, oil, and contamination. Clean blocked orifices carefully without enlarging them. Replace tips showing damaged orifices, distorted flame patterns, overheating, cracks, or excessive wear.
Safety Notes Use approved regulators, hoses, flashback arrestors, and non-return valves. Check for leaks before use and follow the vessel hot-work permit system. Wear suitable eye, face, hand, body, and respiratory protection, and keep combustible materials clear.
