Cargo Tank Pressure Sensors - Container Ship Specific

Pressure sensors measure vapor-space or liquid pressure in tanks and tank-container systems, providing signals for monitoring, alarms and shutdown functions. Standard container ships generally have no integral cargo tanks; selection is relevant to ISO tank containers or shipboard fuel/service tanks.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Cargo Tank Pressure Sensors for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Typical requirements include IEC 60529 for ingress protection, IEC 60092 for ship electrical installations and IEC 60079 or equivalent hazardous-area certification where flammable vapors may occur. ISO tank-container installations may also be governed by ISO 1496-3, CSC and the IMDG Code.
Class Approval Marine type approval may be available from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK for selected manufacturer, model and configuration. Approval must be confirmed against the current certificate and the vessel's classification requirements.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the correct pressure range, process connection, wetted material and hazardous-area rating. Mount away from vibration and heat, provide isolation where permitted, seal cable entries and verify zero after installation. Tank-container modifications require approval from the tank owner and competent authority.
Maintenance Tips Inspect connectors, diaphragms, impulse lines and seals for corrosion, blockage or leakage. Compare readings with a calibrated reference at scheduled intervals and replace damaged seals using cargo-compatible materials.
Safety Notes Depressurize, drain and gas-free the system before removal. Follow lockout procedures and hazardous-area rules. Never loosen a sensor on a pressurized tank, and confirm chemical compatibility with the cargo or tank medium.
