Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly manufactured to IEC/EN 60309-1 and IEC/EN 60309-2 for industrial plugs and socket outlets. Enclosure protection is classified under IEC 60529, typically IP67. Shipboard installation must also comply with applicable IEC 60092 requirements.
Class Approval Product type approval is manufacturer- and model-specific. Where required by the vessel or project, verify valid approval or acceptance documentation from DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm voltage, frequency, 32 A rating, 3P+E pole arrangement and 6h keying. Mount securely, maintain cable-gland sealing and protective-earth continuity, and follow the vessel's approved distribution diagram. Interlocked outlets should isolate power before plug removal.
Maintenance Tips Inspect contacts for overheating, corrosion, pitting and loss of spring pressure. Check seals, covers, glands and locking mechanisms, clean salt deposits, test insulation and earth continuity, and replace heat-damaged components rather than repairing contact surfaces.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out the circuit before servicing. Never connect or disconnect a non-interlocked plug under load. Verify correct voltage and phase sequence, keep protective earth connected, and do not use equipment with cracked housings, water ingress or burned contacts.
