Container Ventilators - Container Ship Specific

Marine container ventilators are weather-protected axial-flow fan assemblies used to supply or extract air from container-ship cargo holds. They remove heat from reefer containers, control hold temperatures, and support ventilation requirements for designated cargoes.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Container Ventilators for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly designed and tested with reference to ISO 5801 for fan performance, ISO 21940 for rotor balancing, IEC 60092 for shipboard electrical installations, and applicable SOLAS and IMDG Code ventilation requirements. Final requirements depend on vessel design and cargo classification.
Class Approval Approval is vessel- and project-specific. Ventilation arrangements, fan materials, motors, fire dampers and controls may require review by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK or the vessel's appointed classification society.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install according to the approved airflow calculation and duct arrangement. Provide rigid foundations, vibration isolation, inspection access, drainage, weather protection and correct damper orientation. Verify motor voltage, rotation direction, airflow and integration with fire-control systems.
Maintenance Tips Inspect impellers, bearings, guards, dampers and weather closures regularly. Remove salt and debris, repair coating damage, lubricate bearings where applicable, check vibration and current draw, and test remote alarms, shutdowns and damper operation.
Safety Notes Isolate and lock out electrical power before opening guards or ducts. Do not operate with damaged impellers or missing guards. Maintain fire-damper and emergency-stop functions, and follow SOLAS, IMDG Code and class requirements when ventilating dangerous-goods spaces.
