Container Door Gaskets - Container Ship Specific

Container door gaskets are replaceable elastomeric seals fitted around ISO freight-container doors to prevent water, dust and wind ingress. Marine-grade profiles are commonly made from EPDM and selected to match the container door frame and retainer channel.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Container Door Gaskets for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Container weatherproof performance is addressed by ISO 1496-1 and the International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC). Gasket compounds may be tested using applicable ASTM or ISO rubber test methods; certification depends on the supplier and container specification.
Class Approval Where required, confirm the applicable classification and approval requirements before ordering.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm the existing gasket profile and dimensions before ordering. Remove the damaged seal, clean the retainer channel, fit sections without stretching, secure by the specified crimping or fastening method, seal corner joints, adjust door alignment and perform a light or water-ingress test.
Maintenance Tips Inspect for cuts, hardening, flattening, loose retainers and damaged corner joints. Clean with mild detergent, keep seals free of paint and petroleum contamination, lubricate only with a rubber-compatible product, and replace sections that no longer compress evenly.
Safety Notes Secure container doors against movement before work and wear gloves and eye protection. Release door locking gear cautiously because cargo pressure may force doors outward. Use approved access equipment for upper seals and follow hot-work controls if retainer repair requires welding.
