Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly manufactured to IEC 60309-1 and IEC 60309-2 for industrial plugs and socket-outlets, with enclosure protection classified under IEC 60529. Cable and shipboard installation must comply with applicable IEC 60092 requirements and vessel specifications.
Class Approval Approval is manufacturer- and model-specific. Shipboard reefer outlet assemblies may require type approval or installation acceptance by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or ClassNK according to the vessel's classification rules.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Match rated voltage, current, pole arrangement, frequency and earth-pin clock position with the vessel socket. Use approved marine cable, correct terminal torque, effective strain relief and watertight cable-gland sealing.
Maintenance Tips Inspect pins, seals, housing, cable gland and strain relief for corrosion, overheating, cracks or moisture ingress. Keep contacts clean and dry, verify earth continuity, and replace damaged components rather than making temporary repairs.
Safety Notes Isolate and verify the reefer circuit is de-energized before installation or maintenance. Never connect incompatible clock positions, operate damaged plugs, or disconnect under load unless the connector and procedure are specifically rated for load breaking.
