Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification EN 15090 specifies footwear for firefighters. EN ISO 20345 may apply to safety footwear components and performance. Marine use should be confirmed against the vessel's flag-state, SOLAS/IMO fire-fighter's outfit requirements and applicable MED certification.
Class Approval Where supplied as part of a marine-approved fire-fighter's outfit, approval may involve DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK. Approval is product- and certificate-specific; individual boots are not automatically class-approved.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the correct size and confirm compatibility with the vessel's fire-fighting suit, trousers and breathing-apparatus equipment. Inspect laces, closures and sole condition before use, and do not modify the boots.
Maintenance Tips Clean with fresh water after exposure to salt, foam or chemicals. Dry naturally away from radiators and direct heat. Check the upper, seams, toe cap, sole, lining and penetration-resistant midsole regularly; replace damaged or heavily worn boots.
Safety Notes Use only boots with the required certification and heat-protection rating. They are not a substitute for the complete approved fire-fighter's outfit. Do not use damaged, contaminated or wet boots when electrical protection is required.
