Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification SOLAS 1974, as amended, and IMO International Life-Saving Appliance (LSA) Code requirements apply to survival craft equipment. Packaged water should meet applicable potable-water, food-contact, and flag-State requirements.
Class Approval Acceptance is normally verified through the lifeboat or liferaft equipment approval and flag-State or recognized organization inspection. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, and ClassNK may assess the associated survival-craft arrangement; individual water packs are not universally class-approved.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Store the required quantity inside the approved lifeboat or liferaft equipment compartment, secured against movement and protected from heat, chemicals, sunlight, and contamination. Follow the survival-craft manufacturer's stowage plan.
Maintenance Tips Inspect quantity, seals, packaging condition, labels, and expiry dates during scheduled lifesaving-appliance inspections. Replace leaking, damaged, contaminated, or expired packs and maintain stock rotation.
Safety Notes Use only sealed potable water intended for survival equipment. Do not use packs with damaged seals or uncertain identification. Avoid freezing, excessive heat, and chemical contamination, and follow the vessel's approved lifesaving-appliance maintenance procedures.
