Blasting Hoses - Shipyard and Dry Dock Equipment

Abrasive blasting hoses convey compressed air and abrasive media from blast machines to nozzle assemblies during shipyard, dry-dock, tank, hull and structural steel surface preparation. They are reinforced, abrasion-resistant hoses designed for controlled high-pressure blasting service.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Blasting Hoses for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification ISO 3861 specifies requirements for rubber hoses for sand and grit blasting. Hose assemblies should also be selected according to the manufacturer’s pressure rating, conductivity requirements and applicable workplace regulations. CE marking may apply to associated equipment or assemblies where legally required.
Class Approval Blasting hoses generally do not have standalone DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, BV or ClassNK type approval. Shipyard acceptance may require traceability, manufacturer certificates, pressure ratings and compliance with the vessel owner’s coating and safety procedures.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Select the hose inside diameter and pressure rating to match the blast machine, abrasive, nozzle and couplings. Use compatible blast-hose couplings, safety pins and whip checks. Keep hose runs as short and straight as practical, and prevent sharp bends, kinking and contact with hot surfaces.
Maintenance Tips Inspect before each shift for cuts, soft spots, exposed reinforcement, excessive wear and damaged couplings. Check electrical continuity where conductive hose is specified. Rotate or replace worn sections and keep hose ends capped and dry during storage.
Safety Notes Depressurize and isolate the blast system before disconnecting or servicing. Never exceed the hose working pressure or use ordinary air hose for abrasive blasting. Secure all couplings with safety devices, wear approved blasting PPE, and replace hose immediately when reinforcement is exposed or the cover is severely damaged.
