Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Commonly specified and assessed against EN 12810 and EN 12811 for facade scaffolds and temporary works equipment. Component requirements may also reference EN 39, EN 74, EN 1004, OSHA, or applicable national workplace-access regulations.
Class Approval Ship staging is generally not a class-approved equipment item. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK may review temporary access arrangements where required by the shipyard, vessel owner, flag, or project safety procedures.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Install only on sound, level, load-bearing surfaces or approved ship structures. Use manufacturer-approved components, ties, bracing, access points, guardrails, toe boards, and foundations. Inspect and tag the completed staging before use and after alteration or adverse conditions.
Maintenance Tips Inspect tubes, frames, decks, couplers, wheels, braces, locking devices, and guardrails for corrosion, deformation, cracks, and missing parts. Keep components clean and dry, segregate damaged items, and maintain inspection records.
Safety Notes A competent person must design, erect, alter, and inspect the staging. Observe rated loads, fall-protection requirements, clearance from electrical hazards, ventilation and hot-work controls, and safe access rules. Do not modify or overload the structure.
