Hull Cleaning Robots - Shipyard and Dry Dock Equipment

Remotely operated or semi-autonomous robotic systems used to remove marine biofouling, slime and loose deposits from vessel hulls, normally while afloat or during dry-dock preparation. They reduce diver exposure and support hull-performance and biosecurity programs.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Hull Cleaning Robots for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification IMO 2023 Guidelines for the Control and Management of Ships' Biofouling (MEPC.378(80)) and IMO Biofouling Guidelines MEPC.207(62) are relevant to operating procedures. ISO 19030 may support measurement of hull and propeller performance, but it is not a general robot certification standard.
Class Approval Class approval is project- and installation-specific. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK may review or approve the operating arrangement, onboard equipment or cleaning procedures when required by the vessel, port or flag administration.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Position the control unit, power supply, umbilical and recovery equipment according to the manufacturer's instructions. Confirm hull-coating compatibility, safe access, water depth, weather limits, discharge controls and port permission before operation.
Maintenance Tips Rinse the robot and tools with fresh water after use, inspect brushes, tracks, magnets, thrusters, cameras, umbilicals and seals, and replace worn cleaning media. Maintain electrical and hydraulic systems according to the manufacturer's service schedule.
Safety Notes Use trained operators and maintain communication between the control station and support vessel or dock team. Keep personnel clear of rotating tools, suction points, thrusters and suspended equipment. Follow lockout procedures and applicable port, environmental and confined-space requirements.
