Pneumatic Fenders - Shipyard and Dry Dock Equipment

Pneumatic fenders are floating, air-filled rubber marine fenders used for ship-to-ship transfer, ship-to-quay protection, dry docks, shipyards and offshore operations. They absorb berthing energy while maintaining low hull contact pressure and can be deployed in tidal or uneven-water conditions.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Pneumatic Fenders for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification ISO 17357-1 and ISO 17357-2 cover high-pressure floating pneumatic rubber fenders and related testing. Manufacturer test certificates, material certificates and dimensional inspection records should be requested for procurement.
Class Approval Pneumatic fenders are generally supplied to manufacturer specifications rather than requiring routine classification approval. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV or ClassNK review, inspection or witnessing may be available when required by the owner, terminal or project specification.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify diameter, length, rated internal pressure, energy requirement and hull contact pressure before installation. Fit the specified sling, chain-net or ladder arrangement, inflate with clean dry air, and secure the fender against excessive movement. Do not exceed the manufacturer's rated pressure.
Maintenance Tips Inspect the rubber body, flanges, valves, chains, nets and shackles before each use. Check internal pressure regularly with a calibrated gauge and top up as required. Clean salt and oil contamination, protect from sunlight and heat, and store deflated or at the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
Safety Notes Keep personnel clear during inflation and handling. Use certified lifting gear and never lift by the inflation valve. Release pressure before removing fittings or carrying out repairs. Do not use a fender with cuts, exposed reinforcement, damaged fittings or uncontrolled pressure loss.
