Blasting Pots - Shipyard and Dry Dock Equipment

Blasting pots are portable pressure-vessel abrasive blasting machines used in shipyards, dry docks, and marine repair facilities. They propel abrasive media through a blast hose and nozzle for hull cleaning, paint removal, corrosion treatment, and surface preparation.

ProShipWorks provides end-to-end support to source and supply Blasting Pots for marine vessels, ship operators, industrial facilities, maintenance teams and procurement departments.

Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Pressure vessels may be manufactured and certified to ASME BPVC Section VIII, EN 13445, or applicable national pressure-vessel regulations. European equipment may require CE marking under the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. Abrasive blasting equipment should also comply with applicable workplace and compressed-air safety requirements.
Class Approval Standalone blasting pots are generally not type-approved marine equipment by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK. Acceptance may depend on shipyard procedures, flag requirements, pressure-vessel certification, and project-specific inspection.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Place the pot on stable level ground and connect correctly rated compressed-air, abrasive, and blast-hose equipment. Install moisture separation, verify hose couplings and whip checks, connect the remote-control system, and perform leak and function checks before pressurizing.
Maintenance Tips Depressurize completely before servicing. Inspect the vessel, valves, gaskets, hoses, couplings, nozzle, and remote-control system regularly. Remove abrasive and moisture after use, clean the metering valve, and maintain pressure-vessel inspections according to the manufacturer and applicable regulations.
Safety Notes Use only rated components and approved abrasive media. Operators must wear an approved blast helmet with supplied breathing air, protective clothing, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear. Barricade the work area, control dust and hazardous coatings, never open a pressurized pot, and follow confined-space and coating-removal procedures.
