Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Common requirements include DIN 51524-2 HLP or DIN 51524-3 HVLP, ISO 11158 HM or HV, and applicable OEM hydraulic-fluid specifications. The product data sheet must be checked for the exact grade and approval claims.
Class Approval Hydraulic oil normally has no universal DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK approval. Classification requirements depend on the equipment, system design, and vessel notation; use the fluid specified or accepted by the equipment OEM and attending class society.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm the OEM-specified viscosity grade and fluid type. Drain incompatible or contaminated oil, clean the reservoir and filters, inspect hoses and seals, and fill through a properly filtered transfer system. Do not mix products unless compatibility is confirmed by the lubricant supplier.
Maintenance Tips Monitor oil level, color, odor, temperature, and contamination. Replace filters at the specified interval and perform periodic laboratory analysis for viscosity, water, particles, oxidation, and wear metals. Investigate leaks and maintain clean, sealed reservoirs.
Safety Notes Review the product safety data sheet before handling. Wear gloves and eye protection, avoid skin contact and oil mist, keep oil away from ignition sources, and clean spills promptly. Dispose of used hydraulic oil through an approved waste contractor.
