Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Scaffold couplers are commonly specified to EN 74-1. Associated scaffold tubes may conform to EN 39 or BS 1139. Hot-dip galvanized components may be produced in accordance with ISO 1461. Actual certification depends on the manufacturer and product type.
Class Approval Individual scaffolding clamps are not normally type-approved as marine machinery. Their use may require acceptance by the shipyard, vessel operator, or attending classification society, including DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, BV, or ClassNK, where applicable.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Use compatible scaffold tubes and couplers of the same diameter and standard. Ensure contact surfaces are clean, align tubes correctly, and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque. Install bracing, ties, platforms, and guardrails according to the approved scaffold design.
Maintenance Tips Inspect before use and after relocation for cracks, deformation, damaged threads, loose nuts, excessive corrosion, or missing components. Clean off concrete, paint, oil, and salt deposits. Remove damaged or heavily corroded clamps from service and store them dry.
Safety Notes Scaffolding must be designed, erected, altered, and inspected by competent personnel. Do not exceed the manufacturer's load rating or use clamps as lifting points unless specifically designed for that purpose. Provide fall protection, secure the scaffold against vessel movement and wind, and follow shipyard and applicable occupational-safety requirements.
