Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Applicable requirements depend on the filter system and service. Common references include ISO 16889 for multipass filter testing, ISO 2942 for filter-element integrity and ISO 4406 for reporting hydraulic-fluid cleanliness. OEM documentation remains the primary specification.
Class Approval Filter elements are generally approved as components of a complete marine system rather than independently. DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas and ClassNK requirements may apply where the associated engine, fuel, hydraulic, ballast or safety system requires class approval.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Verify the OEM part number, filter media, micron rating, pressure and temperature limits before installation. Isolate and depressurize the system, clean the housing, replace seals, install in the correct flow direction and check for leaks after commissioning.
Maintenance Tips Replace at the manufacturer-recommended interval or when differential pressure reaches the alarm or bypass setting. Record operating hours and part numbers, inspect removed elements for abnormal contamination and keep spare elements sealed and dry.
Safety Notes Use appropriate PPE and follow lockout/tagout procedures. Fuel and oil systems may be hot, pressurized and flammable. Collect drained fluids safely, prevent spills and never operate with a damaged element or unauthorized bypass.
