Standards, Certifications & Class Approval

Review the available standards and approval information relevant to the product. Actual certification, material traceability, inspection and classification requirements depend on the product type, intended application and purchasing specification.

Applicable Standards & Certification Performance testing may reference ISO 4548 series and SAE J806 for full-flow lubricating-oil filters used with internal-combustion engines. Exact compliance depends on the filter manufacturer and application. Verify OEM requirements, dimensions, thread and bypass-valve settings before substitution.
Class Approval Classification approval is generally applicable to the engine or complete lubricating-oil system rather than to an individual replacement filter. Where required, use OEM-approved or class-documented components accepted by DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or ClassNK.

Installation, Maintenance & Safety Information

Installation Notes Confirm part number, gasket dimensions, thread, flow direction and bypass-valve specification. Clean the mounting surface, lubricate the gasket with clean engine oil, install to the manufacturer's torque or hand-tightening instruction, and check for leaks after starting the engine.
Maintenance Tips Replace at the engine manufacturer's recommended interval or when indicated by differential-pressure monitoring or oil analysis. Inspect the removed filter for metallic particles or abnormal contamination and record replacement details. Do not reuse disposable filter elements or damaged seals.
Safety Notes Isolate and secure the engine before servicing. Allow hot oil and filter surfaces to cool, relieve system pressure, and wear gloves and eye protection. Collect used oil and filters for approved waste disposal. Never operate with a missing, loose or incorrectly specified filter.
